Meet our doctors

With over 65 years of experice combined!

<pre class'float-left'>Dr. Karl Brock is a 1981 graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. After practicing for a year in Venice, Florida, and three years at Pasadena Veterinary Hospital in St. Petersburg, he opened Brock Animal Hospital in 1985. Brock Animal Hospital quickly outgrew Pinellas Place Shopping Center, and moved to the current location in 1991.

Dr. Brock is a long-time member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Florida Veterinary Medical Association. His special interests are internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Outside the office, he enjoys playing his guitars and recording in his home studio.

Dr. Brock and his wife Vickie (Tuell) grew up in the area and attended Dixie Hollins High School. They are living their dream of owning an animal hospital in the neighborhood. They are "empty-nesters" now, but their three beautiful girls and grandkids visit regularly. Don't worry though, 'cause their two spoiled, long-haired Dachshunds are always ready and willing to give 'em lots of love.</pre>

<pre class'float-left'>Dr. Lisa Thomas has been practicing at Brock Animal Hospital since graduating from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996.

Dr. Thomas and her husband Jeff, both originally from Bradenton, have made Pinellas county their home with their two young sons. They also share their home with their two cats (Echo and Fives) and one crazy Golden Retreiver named Zoe.

When not in the office her interests reflect those of very active boys: riding bikes, playing baseball and visits to Disney or the Kennedy Space Center. Of course the entire family also enjoys cheering for the Florida Gators!</pre>

Meet our care team

<pre class'float-left'>Kathleen has worked in the veterinary field for over 25 years. She was a teenager when she started working at Brock Animal Hospital in 1989, and helped us transition from the small shopping center space into our current spacious facility. Kathleen has been instrumental in our growth and success over the years.

With her daughter away at college, and her son busy finishing up high school, Kathleen finds more time for DIY projects and working on her new home. Her dogs (Hannah & Lilly) and newest addition Emmy a sweet kitten love to watch her work, and sometimes offer creative suggestions.

Come by and see Kathleen. Her smile and laugh are contagious... and she will take care of you... guaranteed!</pre>

<pre class'float-left'>Sharon has a great deal of animal hospital experience. She loves dealing with people and their pets, and always goes the extra mile to help them out.

In her spare time, Sharon likes to listen to music (loves the blues), dance, and dine out. She's crazy about the tunes we play at Brock Animal Hospital... especially the "oldies".

Sharon enjoys making appointments and keeping the front end flowing smoothly. She is definitely a "people person". When you meet her, you'll surely agree.</pre>

<pre class'float-left'>Mindi has been a part-time receptionist for several years now. She has four grown sons, but still has her hands full with her husband Joe and their four dogs. Originally a Georgia peach, Mindi relocated to our area in 1976. She has a pleasant, easy-going personality that we all love... and you will too.

Mindi is also a hair stylist, so if your hair is out of control, she may be able to help.</pre>

<pre class'float-left'>A transplant from New Jersey, Sallie joined the staff in 2005. It took a while, but now when Sallie says, "It's in the drowa", we know we'll find it in the drawer. It sure is fun learning a new language!

Sallie is the Head Technician at Brock Animal Hospital. She runs the exam rooms, sets up for and assists in surgeries, and does virtually all the teeth cleaning and polishing. Sallie's frugal nature and attention to detail makes her the perfect person to order all the medical and surgical supplies, which she accomplishes with great skill "in her spare time".

If you spot one of our staff members with "real" Irish red hair and a big smile, you'll know it's Sallie. We know you and your pets will love her... just like we do.

Sallie lives in St. Pete with her husband Tom. They are entertained by a variety of dogs, cats, and a turtle.</pre>

<pre class'float-left'>Jacalynn is a graduate of Northeast High School, and has become a key member of our full-time staff since starting December 2010.

Jacalynn owns a variety of pets, including Six dogs (Charlie, Ginger, Koko, Arya, Peanut and Katie), five cats (Rascals, Sammy, Lilly, Taylor and Casper). When she's not busy looking after the pets at our office and at home, Jacalynn is working hard to fix up her new house.

We enjoy Jacalynn's good attitude and attention to detail. In addition to her technician and food inventory duties, she helps keep our Facebook page and website running smoothly. The pets like Jacalynn just as much as we do. We're really fortunate to have her on our team!</pre>
